Terms of Use

These terms apply to use of Richmond Residents Directory. By continuing to use the reference, you accept the conditions below. Do not use it if you do not agree.

1. Nature of the Reference

Richmond Residents Directory is a private reference to public rolls, record indexes, and historical directory collections connected with Richmond, California. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with any city, county, state, federal, court, library, or records custodian.

2. Lawful Use Rules

Use the pages and any linked tools only for lawful purposes. You may not use information reached through them to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm another person.
  • Locate a person protected by a restraining or protective order.
  • Commit identity theft, fraud, or another crime.
  • Make a decision regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the pages at scale.
  • Disrupt the service or bypass its security.

3. No Consumer Reports

This reference is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 and following sections. Neither its text nor a result from a linked search tool is a consumer report. No information may be used for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-covered purpose.

4. External Services

County portals, state systems, libraries, archives, and sponsored search tools set their own terms, prices, privacy practices, and availability. Richmond Residents Directory does not control those services and is not responsible for their content or results.

5. No Warranties

The reference is supplied “as is” and “as available.” No promise is made that a statement, link, fee, coverage date, portal, or search result is complete, accurate, current, or uninterrupted.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of these pages or a linked resource, including a decision based on a record found through them.

7. Your Responsibility

You agree to defend and hold the operators harmless from a claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that results from your misuse of the reference or violation of these terms.

8. Original Materials

The original writing, layout, design, logo, and page arrangement are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short excerpt with attribution is welcome. Reposting a full page or copying the content systematically is not.

9. Updates

The operators may revise these terms by posting a new version. Continued use after the revision is posted indicates acceptance of the changed text.

10. Access Restrictions

Access may be blocked or limited when a user violates these terms, abuses a linked service, or threatens the operation or security of the reference. A restriction may take effect without advance notice.

11. California Law

California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000 through 7931.000, explains access to many state and local records, but it does not make this private reference a custodian and does not override record-specific confidentiality laws.

12. Severability

If a court finds one part of these terms unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.

13. Questions

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page.
